DIY in progress

End Table:

The furniture in our home is somewhat evolving. Right after we got married and bought our first house, we went out and bought quite a bit of furniture as we had pretty much nothing. We had been previous apartment dwellers and really never had more than one room to decorate ;)

So, the majority of our furniture is in pretty good shape. However, we have this end table. It's total crap. I'm pretty sure it's not real wood, it's scuffed, it's wobbly, and it's ugly. It lived with my husband in his bachelor pad. I call it my "walmart couture."

Here it stands in all it's glory:

Beautiful right?!? Last time my parents were out, my mom mentioned that she couldn't believe I hadn't refinished it yet and I thought, well crap, I can't believe it hasn't occurred to me to refinish the ugly thing! I was just going to throw it away!!

Well, not anymore! I finally got the itch and refinished it! Voila!

I'm still not in love with it but it definitely looks better. I had some paint issues so it looks a little splotchy but I just don't care enough to redo it! Maybe it needs a different colored basket underneath. I also spray painted the vase sitting on top of it from a drab grayish color to my favorite, turquoise! Woohoo!
